« on: May 29, 2009, 12:37:57 PM »
Anyone else taking monday off to go hit your favorite stream or river? My dad, brother and I are heading to the harbor area to fish for cutts and steelhead on a couple of our best streams!  :IBCOOL:

FYI -

Better check the regs because the statewide stream opener was changed this year from June 1st to the first Saturday in June, which happens to be the 6th this year.  There are a few select streams that opened earlier but I don't think any down that way did.

From page 15 of the regs:

New Opening Date for Streams - The statewide opening day for
stream fishing has been moved from June 1 to the first Saturday
in June. Streams with different opening dates are not affected by
this rule.

As always, check the Special Rules for the streams you intend to fish.

Thanks for the heads up, it has opened on June 1st for so long I didn't even look to see if the date changed. :bash:

I think there are a LOT of people who aren't aware of the change.  Better to find out here than from your local enforcement officer!

I have Monday off so I really don't like the change!

of course, those will be treated like new born babies. handled with care and released to mother river, but they will get a good spanking first  :chuckle:

I like that they changed it, I can hit Point Defiance on Monday and the the South fork next Saturday, I was upset to see that Deer Season Didn't open until the 17th then I realized I could hit the opener in Idaho and still hit it in Washington, Win/Win :IBCOOL:
