A member recently applied for a Special trapping permit to control beaver on a friends property. He applied using what turned out to be an expired WCO permit number on the application. They refused him because his WCO permit was no longer valid. They should not be able to do this as there is no requirement to have a WCO permit to get a Special trapping permit. I called them on this, and they agreed to issue the Special Trapping permit if he wrote on the permit, that he was trapping these problem animals as a service to a friend and not charging for his service.
If you put your WCO permit number on a Special Trapping permit it better be current and if you are applying for a permit with the intention to not charge the landowner, you better state that intention on the permit application.
I'll just say this on their paperwork: You do need to fill it out to the tee. Damage must be verified, alternative methods that have been tried need to be listed and now apparently whether you plan to charge or not.
