Packwood Cowlitz

My dad and i were thinking of spending the day fishing the cowlitz in the Packwood area. Any suggestions of good access points? Tips for fishing the river?

Been a lot of years since I’ve fished those waters. Blue creek? Barrier dam? Both good access

Those will be very barren waters. No springers yet. If the springer run develops and they start getting trucked up there in decent numbers it can be good fishing. Same for Coho and fall chinook.

For the Cowlitz you will want to be fishing from barrier dam down!
