Multi-season Tag drawing odds
« on: March 26, 2023, 08:08:16 AM »
I was curious about the multi-season draws odds.  They are not yet available for 2022 on the WDFW website that I could find.  In 2021 for deer, it was 8,500 tags for 21,641 apps, 39% chance.  Elk was 1000 tags for 20588 applicants, 5% chance.

It’s worse than that if you factor in the squaring of points.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

:yeah: I've put in every year for elk and have never drawn, so I have like 14 or 15 points. I lost track at this point, but my points theoretically give me a better shot at being issued a lower number in the draw than a person with only 1 point. The bottomline is the odds are much worse than your calculations once y ou u figure in squaring of the points.

Will have 12 points this year for elk, but those odds are terrible either way, 20 or 1 point.

I've got 7, 8, 9, 10, & 11 points in elk categories.  That number of squared points amounts to       :sry:

I drew elk in 2013 with 5 points, then again in 2022 with 8 points. I guess I will be lucky if I ever draw it again, but I have really enjoyed it when I’ve I had that tag.

I’m going in with 6 elk points and 3 deer points. I have bought the deer tag every fall anyway but I have been in a losing streak. When I started the multi season draw 7 years ago it was about 100% draw odds for deer.

I didn't get redrawn last year until October. I haven't heard a straight answer if they're sticking with the same system as last year, or reverting back to first come first served. Anyone know for certain?

Thankfully. So the rest of us can buy it in august.

You absolutely could.

You get a point when you buy the application, so everyone starts with 1 point.  Back to zero when you draw.
