Lenore Lake Trip

Managed a couple of days back in March to hit up Lenore with Little Pathfinder. We got there about an hour before light started fading on Friday night. A couple of guys were coming off the water and proclaimed it dead, but we had driven a few hours so we suited up anyway. Glad we did. We must have hit it just right. Caught 4 fish that night, two big ones and two little ones.

One turned out to be the biggest fish I have landed there since I was in high school. Didn't put a tape to her, but over 2' long and healthy.

Of course, we went back the next day and got skunked.
Fished hard all day, but had to head home before dark, so we missed the "witching hour"...

Excellent fish! Those Lahontan's are fantastic trout!

Nice fish! So does anybody know why they don’t have the hatchery creek running anymore? Never saw it running last year and wondered if it will this year? Is it because of poaching the spawners at night?

That brings back some good memories. I wondered how it has been fishing lately. Nice trip!

Looks like a great trip! It's right in my back yard and I've never fished there. Thanks for taking the time to post your story and pics, those fish are beautiful!
