Thank you!

This was Sunday C.

So a G4 solar storm hit about noon. In solar terms, I suppose that’s like a category 5 hurricane, or an EF 5 tornado.   Numbers were off the charts.  Chasers were beside themselves as 95% of the state was predicted cloud covered.  The only potential clearing was a small spot over Yakima.   Here come the westside chasers.   The news got ahold of it and forecasted that 36 states would be able to see the northern lights.    It ended up being seen and photographed as far south as Arizona and Texas.  Question was , was it going to hold.   I haven’t seen numbers like this, I was kinda excited to see how they correlated with storms I had seen back in the 70s and 80s when I didn’t even know there were “numbers”.

Well, I set up on my back porch and watched it unfold.  The skies parted about 11-12.  The storm probably was peak about dark or 930.   The sky was pretty surreal, I’ll try to add a few of those pics.

It was cloudy in Colville, so we missed it. A friend sent me a nice photo from southern Idaho, but it was just a cell phone picture, of course your photo is much better and I think brighter since you were much further north.

They are saying between 9 and MN.   I am guessing thats before the moon comes up and after dusk.   The storm started last night and is supposed to last through tomorrow peaking tonight.
