This was an Unbelievable day. My first ever bear. I called in with a rabbit in distress call that I made. We dropped the meat off at the butcher and it’s going to be a gorgeous rug at the cabin.

Thanks to my bro Chad Rowden and cousin Jason for all the help!

Heck ya. Congrats 👏
Maybe I'll try the call after glassing gets boring.
Again nice cinnamon bear, looks like a nice size one too.
Congrats!!!

Very nice color on that one.

Congrats!

Took 5 days, but Little Pathfinder found one he wanted.  I'll get a thread up with the story as soon as I have some time.

First day magic! Been keeping tabs on a few bruins frequenting a trail near some river bottoms. Been trail cam’ing this area for a few years and I’ve found bears to be very pattern prone as long as they aren’t messed with. Climbed into the tree stand today at 3pm and an hour and half later I could hear one moving through the brush. Almost busted out the predator call when I wasn’t hearing anything but waited and about 5 minutes later this boar came walking below the stand about 50 yards away down the trail. One shot and this 5 foot, 175lb boar didn’t move. Not huge but pretty stoked about his white ‘heart’ patch in the center of his chest. Best of luck to everyone this year!!

Curious what a taxidermist does with that nice throat/chest patch? Any specific plans? I had a bear with a nice patch. Rugged it and ruined the whole patch. I should have done something different.

Congrats to Little Pathfinder!  My son just passed hunter safety this spring and is really looking forward to deer season in October.  I can’t wait

I haven’t read all of the posts just looking at the pictures. Has anyone used a call to call one in?

There was a recent post here on the forum where a member was trying to call in a bear, but had a big cougar come in.

I believe there is a couple called in.
This topic or thread is for success stories and photos only.
So it would be best to start a new topic for calling bears.
I might give it a try in the next few days.
Nothing better to do in 100 degree weather.
