Bearpaw Season - Fall 2023

It’s been another busy summer with a little vacation and lots of building improvements, and now fall hunting is ramping up. I decided I would start this topic off a little different than usual. My son just had a new litter of walker hound puppies hit the ground over a 24 hour period, great breeding but first time mother that had a little trouble, the vet provided medication to cause more frequent contractions, she lost the last two that were born dead, but the first 6 seem to be doing well and the female is doing well now too.

I know I always enjoy seeing puppy pics!

We’ve been seeing some great animals on our Montana leases. Here's a pretty decent goat, there are several similar bucks running around, some nice heavy horns this year, this particular buck has 4 to 6 inch cutters, hopefully we can get a side photo that will show them off a little better.

We only have two Montana whitetail hunters, my fingers are crossed one of them gets this fellow that’s living on one of the properties.

Mom is doing well, but she almost lost another pup, not sure if he got separated, got layed on, or what happened? My daughter found the smallest male seemingly lifeless, but she rubbed him, and warmed him up, and gave him some milk replacer, and he made it through the day, if he makes it till morning I think he has a good chance of surviving.
