New Day Pack
« on: September 12, 2023, 05:14:29 PM »
I'm looking for a new day pack for the upcoming season. I don't usually go any further than 1 to 2 miles in. Right now, I'm looking at the Killik 2200 at Sportsman's. Does anyone have any experience with this pack? I would be interested in any other recommendations based on real-world experience.

Most day packs are fairly small - by the time you have ll your "stuff" in there . All depends on what and how you hunt. If I am a couple miles in by myself , which I usually am and a lot further . I only want to make one pack out and I think a 2200 is not going to cut it. Obviously not elk , but can get a whole Mule deer in a 4800 no problem. quartered/boned

I bought my son the eberlestock f1 with the two batwing compartments and it is the most awesome daypack I have ever owned.   The bat wings carry all the gear for a day and you have a pack frame to pack game out.  You can customize it to fit any hunting style.  We carry a fry bag to sandwich cloths in between the bat wings in colder weather.  It’s pretty awesome.   I would buy one but I use my kuiu pretty exclusively and just cinch it down when not full.  I have packed whole deer out in one trip with the kuiu.

I have packed out deer in one trip no problem with my Kuiu 5000 and now I have an EXO 4800
