Headed to chewuck and Gardner
« on: October 02, 2023, 05:57:09 AM »
I was lucky enough to draw a Hunter Ed Tag for both Chewuck and Gardner Units.  I'm headed up to do some scouting today. I looking for good options for lodging.
I'm staying at the KOA in a cabin on this trip but wondering if there are better options for the November deer hunt. I don't have a RV .

I would just rent an RV if you dont have one. cheaper than cabins and hotels.

Winthrop is a destination town, so the prices really don’t change much for lodging. Winthrop inn is show$ 83  a night, it the cheapest I see in November between Twsip and Winthrop.

It's Chewuch
I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies

Strong, capable, effective leaders don't spend all day, every day, issuing threats and ultimatums.

For a man with the emotional maturity of a three-year-old and the foresight of a newt, Donald Trump is nonetheless a pretty terrible president.

Even the stupid people are starting to get it

Or Chewack, depending on which local you are!! :chuckle: :chuckle:

Just like Squaw Cr, was!

The name pronunciation and how its is spelled, reminds me of some of the "debates" that go in here!! :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

I and a few of my friends pronounce Winthrop as Win-trow-up!!!  As I've heard also Maz-a-ma! :chuckle: :IBCOOL:

Good luck, KDB

I remember a guy(west side) calling Twisp, Tw-eye-sp, long I.😆😆😆we privately got a kick out of it. This was before the NCP was in. Nobody knew about Win-trow-up or Tw-eye-sp back then except for a some hunters and locals. Back when the “God, Guts and Guns”  house greeted you as you came across the bridge in Win-trow-up👍

Yep, coolest way to go would be a tent and wood stove but if that’s not working I agree with some about renting an RV.
