Bears in Gold Bar
« on: June 06, 2009, 11:09:31 PM »
My inlaws live in Goldbar, and several of their friends have been complaining about the bears.  I got permission to hunt on one families place that borders on the national forrest.  The only problem is that I have never hunted bear before, in fact I still have not shot anything. :( :(  So any pointers would be great.  Thanks for your input.
There's a reason they call it hunting, not killing.

There are a lot of good threads here on bullet selection (prefer 30 cal), hunting styles (calling/spot & stalk), and what to look for (country/sign).

My first suggestion is to know and be confident in your shooting ability. Know where to aim and know your angles.
