North Twin Sister (Whatcom County) Climb/Ski
« on: June 07, 2009, 12:20:10 PM »
So I took some time off of studying on Friday to climb North Twin Sister with my father-in-law and his friend Chuck.  I've been wanting to climb one of the sisters for a long time now and I'm glad I was finally able to do it.  I'll add a few pictures here and post some more later.

We also saw (while driving) a black tail deer, a really nice jet black bear (250 - 300 pounder), and we had a bobcat run across the logging road in front of us.  Unluckily, they were all moving so fast we couldn't get any pictures of them.

Awesome pics, looks like you guys picked a perfect day to go. Was it a long hike in?

It wasn't bad at all.  We met at Nugents Corner at 7:45 a.m. and we were back by 4.  It was really fun.  Weather was perfect, it wasn't super hot (like the day before) and the clouds were just rolling in as we got back to the car.

Beautiful Spot.  I stared at those mountains every day for years, but never climbed up there.  Looks like I was missing out.  Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing.  How was the stability of the snow pack?  Were you concerned with a slide breaking free on you at all?

Not really, everything was very consolidated spring snow.
