Blacks Creek Packs

Anybody have any reviews on their packs?  Looking at getting a new pack this summer and want to know what people think of Blacks Creek.

Good packs, lots of pockets and fit nice but I would still go with BadLands if given a choice!

Last summer I was in the market for a new pack and looked pretty heavily at the badlands and the blacks creek.  I ended up with the canadian.  It's a well thought out pack.

I have an original Alaskan.   Tough as hell and great for getting meat to the truck.   Then grab the pack frame.   But this might be a great Idea.

I have the Alaskan, it has been an excellent pack. I haven't had the opportunity to pack meat out yet. It is well builtand very comfortable.

I also have an Alaskan and I love it. When I was in the market, I looked at Eberlestock, Badlands, Kelty, etc. I spent a lot of time looking, and made multiple trips to Sportsman's Warehouse to try on packs, and in the end this is the one I chose. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I've got the Jim Horn All American fanny pack from them a few years ago. Great pack.

As far as their backpacks go....no experience. I've got the Badlands 2800

I've got both the canadian and the alaskan and both are outstanding.  Started off with the alaskan and then found the canadian 1/2 off at Joes going out of business sale and picked one up.  Don't think I will ever buy another pack.  Only packed meat in the alaskan in Idaho last year and it worked flawlessly.

my question would be....what type of hunting are you doing. I love the blacks creek packs, but the backcountry style hunting that I do....I need a little more frame. I have a blacks creek wildthing and it rocks. yes, it is heavy, but, it will handle a serious load for miles. the alaskan and canadian are great packs. Your in Vancouver? I am in Washougal, your more than welcome to check it out before you buy one, I also have a sitka 45 you can look at too.

 I know the producer backs them up really well, was thinking of carrying them, maybe some day. Badlands seems a little overpriced, nice packs, but there's a lot of competition out there that are cheaper and do the job. I'm sure Shockey wouldn't use them if they didn't stand up to the worst abuse.

Very good packs.  I've primarily looked at the Jim Horn models.  Well thought out, lots of pockets and straps, highly adjustable, and very comfortable.

Cons... heavy, lots of pockets and straps (yes a pro and a con). 

Overall... I'd consider it a top of the line pack right there w/ Eberlestock and Badlands.  To some degree all packs are a compromise.  You gotta kinda figure out what's imprortant and go for the one that fits the bill the best.  Assuming it fits you.... it should be a great pack for ya.

I like Eberlestock for extended trips, or packing out game, and badlands for day hunts, scouting, etc.

Thanks for the information.  I think some trips to Sportsman's Warehouse.....er, Wholesale Sports are in order to try on some packs!
