Marlin 917V
« on: June 09, 2009, 08:50:04 PM »
Just bought a new marlin 917V wood stock and man it is a shooter, not even broke in yet and I have an old winchester $50 scope on it and it is shooting under an inch. :IBCOOL:

I am impressed with my 917, HM2, I don't think the receiver is as solid as the Savage but it is a heck of a lot better in the fit and finish department. And accurate also. It took me awhile to like it, I have an irrational dislike for Marlin, I said irrational, but have since grown to like it a lot.

Mine is getting a better stock soon. Just to small, but most rimfire stocks are.

And where are the pics?
Never, ever let Creed hold you baby, it will ruin it and you will have to get another.

Here is mine, trigger sucks , but it is a shooter.  Real fun gun to shoot.
I've hunted almost everyday of my life, the rest have been wasted.

There's a couple easy fixes for that trigger at rimfirecentral.com in the Marlin section.

Mine was a shooter too. I am just too cheap to buy ammo for it so I sold it.

I actually bought mine for my girlfriend to pactice with at 100 yards, just as accurate, cheaper to shoot and a lot less recoil as her 30-06.
