Congrats!  And ty for taking the time to share.  Was curious where the cat was hit when you shot it that it didn't expire?

Because it turned into a real rodeo after it bed down it’s tough to tell. I think I hit it in the right rear knee.  That bone was KO’d.  I was shooting a 300 win mag, just enough gun for the job it’s possible that the concussion of it hitting the cliff it’s just scared the crap out of the cat. My buddy shot it bedded and then twice as it was running at him so there are holes in and out of  front to back.

I’m just glad it’s dead. A wounded cat is no joke. I’m really glad it walked away from my buddy versus pouncing on him from the cliff it was hiding in above him.

Yes, I don't think I want a cat like that pouncing on me.... ever!

Couple of things. Number one my buddy has some real stones getting that close to the cat both times. I’m not sure which was worse a healthy cat above you at ten yards or a wounded cat at 30 yards. He was a real trooper and a great guy to have as a hunting partner.  He filmed a bunch of it, not the action but everything leading up to and after the kill. I assume he is going to do a video similar to my raffle elk hunt.

Second, I really wanted to get this cat. I had it on camera in September and I know it had killed two deer on my property in September. I told my wife I was going to focus this winter on killing it. I’m shocked it worked out like it did but super happy it did.
