Looking to borrow if not to far away from Pierce Co/Kitsap areas. Can't find anything local at the store. I know I can find it online but figured I'd ask here 1st. Thanks

Let me check, I've got a bunch of 5/16 taps. Funny I was out looking for 5/16 brass or aluminum rod today for another loading project.

they are cheap on Amazon or you can buy one at any hardware store.
Cost is less than a 20.00. and then you could have your own.   :dunno:
But then I'm not a big fan of borrowing tools or loaning them out.

Yeah I can find them online but didn't want to deal with shippi h and everything. We have po box and our Post Office isn't direct drop so everything generally takes an extra day.

5/16 is common it's the 36tpi that is the issue. The Hornady guage uses 36tpi for some dumb reason.

Sorry no 32tpi, but Grainger in Fife can get you one by the weekend. Part number listed below; they have been good source for odd size taps for me. They are more expensive than Amazon or Evil Bay.
Item 33YU79 (Grainger number)
Mfr. Model 1680400

A Hornady modified case versus having a piece of brass, shot in my gun, drilled and tapped for the Lock-N-Load OAL tool, I always get much more consistent measurements drilling and tapping a piece of brass that's been shot in my gun and formed to my guns chamber.  With the store bought Modified cases they always seem to be so undersized and kind of wobble around in the chamber instead of using a piece of brass that's already been shot in my gun it fits perfectly with no wiggle.

IMO, you're way better off drilling and tapping a piece of brass you've fired in your gun to use with the LnL OAL tool, I think you'll get much more consistent measurements that way.

This is my plan.

Search google, you can buy a tap & drill combo for less than the postage of shipping a loaner tap back & forth.

BTW I have a 5/16-36 tap in the tool chest.
