This sounds like how they are going to close down predator trapping. Trappers “doing the right thing” are giving fuel to the fire. I highly doubt the trapper in NW Montana that caught two, one of which died thought his set was illegal either. I respect fish and wildlife officers but I really do my best to stay on the up and up and all around avoid them. I learned that as a kid when one chummed up to my dad and started asking him questions about the area we were elk hunting and what we had seen. And my dad told him just to find out we were hunting the wrong side of the rd on accident, his little book came out 😜 That was probably 35 years ago and I still remember, I learned a lot that day 😂
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Try your best to not make mistakes but if you do, keep it to yourself and learn from them.
