Hey good job Shane, watched and read the first couple posts and thought this guy is going to get his bull and sure enough you did, way to go-  food for the year...  Who cares about scores, he is a fine animal to mount for any den or above anyones fireplace....  Again great job and a very nice bull....

Congrats Shane he's a great looking bull with plenty of wall appeal that's for sure! If your scores stand up I'll have to give you a  too cause you called it and said you were going to shoot the State record with a bow!!! But I'll wait until I see the official scorer for that one  ;) I hope it stands for you! Can you post your measurements? I think some are skeptical that a 41" can score that high and it would be nice to put those to rest now!!! Nice job to your Sherpas too ... I know what that's like!  :chuckle: Again congrats on a fine moose no matter what the score!  :)

How are you measuring the palm length?

when i was there we measured from inside the farthest forward fork down and then turned straight toward the inside of the farthest back fork.

I'm not expert on moose but this bull is impressive by any standard.  Sure, I'd love to put a tape to that rack but no record book score can compare to the memories made on a great hunt, with good people, and having it all come together.  Truly the definition of Once In a Lifetime.

As I said before awesome bull Shane, not that 200 incher but more realistically what a giant is in this state.

There is a net for moose so not sure what thats all about....but I wonder about your score for the only reason that the one side is so much bigger than the other.
Quote
scored bull, 158 7/8 gross amd 155 3/8 net, bull had everything but width! 41" hurt him bad
I'd think that there would be a MUCH larger gap between gross and net.  No matter, the bull is awesome, just talking score with you.  If that one side matched :yike:  and as you said width.

I figured 8x8 (16)with 10 inch paddles....smallest of the two (20) 7 inch mass (14)  26 paddle lengths (52) and 41 width (41) ........biggest guess on the paddle lengths.  One side is way longer than the other.  Add 2 inches for good measure.
145 bull.

No kidding, its still going to look good on the wall. Is Charlie mounting it Shane?

The other thing I want to know is how it eats? Some have posted that theirs were tough and didn't taste that good, I have found that if you cook to med. rare its tender as long as you don't let it sit and cool for a long period, how were those tenderloins? No complaints on how mine eats.

The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!
