Minimum post count needed to view classifieds

We have instituted a three post minimum to view classifieds in an effort to reduce scammers.

The issue we are having is people are joining the forum. Looking at want to buy WTB classifieds, sending pms to the member wanting to buy and asking the email or call someone that has what they are looking for.

It’s always the same type of message obviously computer generated.

The new members that are doing it don’t have any posts. Probably because it is just a BOT.

Hopefully this cuts down on this type of thing.

Members that only buy or sell stuff in classifieds will need to make some posts on the main forum that stay.

When you post an ad in the classifieds it counts as a post but when that item gets sold and the ad gets deleted that post disappears off of your post count.

The deleted posts are in recycle but don’t count towards your post count.

Initially this will be a pain for those that just buy and sell but once everyone knows the deal it should help keep BOTS out.

Love it!  Over on another forum you have to have some response to your posts to get a high enough score to post in classifieds.  Some of posts are hilarious -  ots funy the questions they make up trying to get someone to answer them.  Ai ?

The BOTs never post, once they are a member they just send PM’s, so it only takes a few posts to prove it’s not a BOT we hope.
