« on: March 12, 2024, 10:54:19 AM »
Any reports on the Cowlitz? We are heading down on Friday and I am curious how the fishing has been. Thanks.

River looks like crap below the Toutle.  Best bet would be Blue Creek with all the crazies!

Reminds me of the north east whitetail east vs west thread. Everyone from somewhere else comes here to fish it. But everyone complains there’s no fish and too many people. Sound fimliar?
You gonna draw those pistols or whistle Dixie?

One common denominator though!

Counts at the dam have been stable and increasing. Last week of March til mid April will have the highest returns. Course it's crowded with other local systems shut down. If you are in a boat there are miles of productive water you can have to yourself. 30 boats will pound that stretch at the BC launch over and over before spreading out.

Well, how did you do?

Me and a friend of mine went on the 14th, got there at 4:45 am, by 7 am the river came up a ton! Went from 5100 CFS to almost 6400 CFS! Really seemed to put the fish down.

My luck go figure 😅

Sorry for the late update. 3 of us fished all day and put 2 fish in the boat. Saw a few other fish get caught but a little slow overall. Good times anyways.

I was there a couple days ago on the bank. One evening saw two boats pull in fish, the next morning didn't see anything caught.
