If your looking for a higher power scope that won't break the bank, Meuller makes a 4.5x14x44mm AO named the APV.  It has very nice glass and tracks well $115. shipped.

I have a weaver 2x7 on a marlin which works very well and is the way I am leaning, I also have an old el paso weaver fixed 4 on a winchester 72a that seems to work nicely. I noticed a lack of mention of simmons in the reply's we have several simmons scoped .22s in our house and have had good luck with them. I think ill give mueller a hard look. thanbks for the reply's
