Problem after installing silencer on AR’s??
« on: April 28, 2024, 07:55:51 AM »
Anyone else instal a silencer on their AR and then have issues with cycling the next round in?  I have a hybrid 46 and both my .300 blackout and .223 jam the next round after the first shot.  Shoot fine without the silencer, little research and it looks like a gas issue.  Has to be someone out there who already delt w this and have an answer???

You should get an adjustable gas block to reduce the "over gassing" caused by the suppressor. I have used both the JP and Slr adjustable gas blocks with good results

You can install it.  Just look up on Youtube.  It isn't that hard but it isn't super easy either.  My AR pistol works flawless with my silencer and did out a adjustable gas block on it.  I here this alot on 300 blackouts to.  Doubt you can buy one in WA.

Sometimes an adjustable gas block is nice.
If you reload too.
You can adjust to just functional, then your brass isn't in the next county or chewed up.

I am curious about how the gun jams up. If it is over gassed, it seems like it would just eject the rounds extra hard. Is it failing to feed? Is it stovepiping?

one is failing to feed, the .223 the blackout is closing on the next round, crushing the bullet.

So I just took the silencer off, and my .300 blackout doesn’t even eject the shot shell.  So frustrating.

I’ve had great success running Bootleg adjustable carrier, been using 6 years zero issues. When I started running suppressors on AR was blowing the primers out of the case. Easy fix and only a couple hundred dollars. Some like them and some don’t.
