Peaches now changed to Observatory
« on: July 28, 2024, 10:57:17 AM »
Washington state did to me like many others--changed me to Observatory from Peaches ridge after many hours of scouting on google earth and and trips to the Norse Peak wilderness.  I don't regret the time spent in the Norse Peak, its a wonderful area, but now I need to start over.
Any suggestions on big bull in Observatory.
A friend of mine shot a big bull in the Wenas wildlife area near Selah, so I will spend some time there.  I also like the western edge of LT Murray around Frost Mtn and considering putting a wall tent camp there.  I have hunted several years in Joe Watt canyon, but have been disappointed in the bull count there.  Anyone's input is greatly appreciated.

Fyi, the Wenas fire burned a big chunk of the sagelands/canyons in the eastern portion of the Umtanum. You can see the footprint on OnX. Might be better off focusing on the western half of that gmu or in the 340.

I had a bull tag there and never saw an elk. Plenty in there though. I had zero weather. May want to look in higher elevations. Good luck, It is a great tag, would love to have it again.
