Elk weapon of choice this year?
« on: September 03, 2024, 09:35:36 PM »
So campers, all the draws have been done this year in ours and the good elk states (grin), what is your primary elk weapon of choice or by default  this year to bring Mr Wapiti (or Mrs Wapiti to be PC correct) home for dinner this year?

No tag but I would use a 9.3X62, good for bears as well.

I'll head out in WA modern season with the .270 win...

Usually have a bow in hand but this year I'll be packing a CVA .50 cal muzzy on my eastern WA elk hunt.

Archery, western WA.  Drew a good tag and I’ve done some scouting and have a couple trail cams up.  The elk are around, unfortunately I won’t get out until the later half of the season but I have a full week available to be out there.
