Deer struck by lightning?

I’m guessing power line as well. When was a kid my dad and I camped out in a lightning storm. When we were hunting the next morning we found a deer laying dead fresh and untouched. We assumed struck by lightning.

Were they bedding in the same area or something? That would be freaky to see.

We had lightning hitting all around us the deer was a couple hundred yards away. Also found a tree of fire.

I wonder if this had been a cougar if it would have counted against the quota for the PMU. Human related mortality because climate change.....
