Mayview -Peola Youth Antlerless Elk
« on: October 17, 2024, 09:37:22 AM »
My son got selected for an antlerless youth tag for GMU 145 and 178. Modern Firearm. We're pretty familiar with that area, since we hunt deer there. due to unforseen evens, we will have a VERY short window to try and fill his tag. looking for some pointers from members that may be a little more familiar with that area.
-Should we focus more on National forest land or AG fields?
-Higher elevation or lower?
-Draws or open forest?
-Morning evenings? (we will probably do both either way)

Thanks in advance.

Those units are 99.9% private . There are some feel free to hunt areas in there but it's gonna be tough to fill that elk tag as elk that live in those units cover large distances and are sparse.
