Moose Hunting on Mount Spokane
« on: June 22, 2009, 08:59:16 AM »
My 13 year old son has been drawn for a Youth Moose Hunt for Mount Spokane.  We were wondering if there is anybody out there that knows a good area to go to.
Thanks
Kurt

PM me...I might know a guy that will take you who knows the area.

Only area I know of is Inland Empire Paper Company land and you have to buy a permit to get on to it.

If you go up Blanchard pass you will be into moose, but most of that is paper land, need a permit but worth it, lots of land. You also have the little pass between elk and the backside of Newport, there is some really good public land out there and I know of at least one moose that was harvested there last year (youth hunt). You should not have any problems getting a cow. Take 4 days and go have some fun. PM me when you are going and I may be able to slide out and help you on a weekend, I have a 4 wheeler I can use also. That is the area that I grew up in and still hunt every year in the late season. I just have to say it again that is a good tag, I always see moose in that area.  :chuckle:
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.
