Recently the idea of a 44mag rifle has been appealing to me. I was really focusing on Henry or Marlin, but when the S&W 1854 came out something about it really draws me that direction. I'm just wondering if anyone has any real-world experience with these. From the reviews I’ve been reading and YouTube reviews I’ve seen, they sound like a good rifle. I like the idea of being able to add a suppressor and light if I wish. Maybe even a red dot sight.
Thanks for any insight

I went to my local gun store this morning and they had one in stock. After handling it I decided to buy it. I think it will pair nicely with my S&W 44 mag mountain gun. The best part is it was mostly covered by a gift certificate I recently won in a raffle! Looking forward to getting to shoot it.

I bought the Rossi 92 in 44 mag. Took the buckhorn sights off and put the factory rail and peep on it. Then put a large loop lever on it.
Not extremely accurate but you can hit a deer at 100 yards. They shine because they are light and maneuverable as a truck or bedside rifle.
The heavy loads really kick in that light of a gun for sure

Thanks, you’ve described a lot of how I see this one’s role. I also want to get into reloading and have set a goal of improving my proficiency and confidence with the 44 mag pistol, so this should be a good companion

Reloading for sure. With the extra barrel length you get a significant increase in foot pounds and velocities. You can reload specifically for your rifle.

PCC's are fun. And if you reload, you're not chasing your brass all over HE77 with a lever gun.
I don't have a 44, but have a few 45 Colts.
Expect 2-300 fps over published pistol loads when using slow'ish powders.
If your gun doesn't mind cast bullets they'll do quite well with something in the Blue Dot range while being rather economical.
