Tires for Ram 3500

Time to replace the hoops on my Ram 3500 4x4. Anyone tried the BF Goodrich KO3's on the big trucks. Not much off road other than Colockum hauling a camper a couple times a year.

I just had KO3 put on my 2500 Ram in August replacing Goodyear Duro whatever all mud and snows.   Not many miles on them so I cannot speak to wear.  I did have to turn around on a logging road after a rain snow mix and did not have to use 4 wheel drive which shocked me with the softness of the road.  So far so good

Went through this a year ago and found a few good videos on Youtube.com .  One guy had a business that ran 3/4 and 1 ton trucks and tested both the KO3 and KO2.  He got better wear out of the KO2's.

I ended up with the KO2 on my 1 ton Ram and to this point have been very happy.  Probably have 5-7K miles on them.

A complete non Fan of BF goodrich tires.   Bought the 2500 Ram and replaced them with under 2k due to so many flats out in the basalt.  Pretty looking things, but I chaulk em up to butter when on rough roads.   Hiway seemed good.

Thank you....we have run those on ambulance F350 / 450 and 550 dually chassis with good luck.

They aren't bullet proof, but I spend a lot less time on the Jack during prime time than anything else I have tried.   It is pretty much 100% what the loggers ran in the NE corner and on the Rez when I played around up there.  Logging sites are pretty hard on tires

I went back to the AT 3's with no issues and MUCH quieter.

I don’t believe there is a perfect tire, boat, RV…

The M-55’s have really hard rubber which makes them durable. They are a good option in a lot of situations, but not on wet roads.

I think the choosing a tire depends on how much and where you drive. M-55 is a good option for a lot of off road use. I personally like the BFG All Terrains. It’s a good balance of traction and quietness. Not perfect for everything, but a good compromise.

I only have experience with the KO-2 on two different Tundras over 320,000 miles.

I have a 2500 and hunting buddy a 3500 and I would say from my personal experience the BF KOs are great traction tire but lack durability.  I went from BF KO 2s to Wildpeak AT3s to BF KO 3s.  The Wildpeaks were a better tire for sure in regards to durability.  My hunting buddy went through a new set of KO either 2s or 3s in a year and a half.  Just my 2 cents.

I did extensive research on tires before buying my last set 2 months ago for my 3/4 ton ford diesel. BFG are not what they used to be. That’s what I had for my last set. k02. BFG don’t balance well and if they do, they go out of balance often. People are spending thousands on their front ends trying to fix a problem that is a simple tire issue. I decided to go with the falken wildpeak at4w. I went into ky local dealer and he said if I’d have asked about falken tire 10 years ago he’d have laughed me out of the store, but now they’re top of the line tire. He brought up the BFG balancing issue on his own. Same thing I’d been hearing. So far my falkens have been great in mud and snow, and no noise on the highway.

I to drive a ram 3500 and I just put on my second set of Cooper AT3's, I spend half the time running up & down I5 and the other half in the woods and have not had one issue with them.
