Congrats. That's been mine and my dads #1 or #2 choice for the last 10 years and no draw yet.  :bash: Good luck on the hunt and look forward to seeing what comes out of there this year.

By the way, how many points did you have to draw? Just curious.

We have had a place there for 40 years and I can say I really have no idea where the deer will be! Always there in Oct. in 40 years have never been there in Nov. so will be looking for info on this area during a Nov. hunt. Should be able to get my best buck ever being that my biggest are a couple small 3 points and since my boys started hunting with me 11 years ago and 4 years ago I have not fired a shot.

40 years and never been there in November, you are in for a eye opener.
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!

We have been there several times in Jan. and Feb. when the snow lets us get into cabin but Nov. is the only month I think that I have never been there that I remember. I was 5 when mom and dad built the cabin but I am really looking forward to this I think my boys are even more excited because they might get to see dad shoot something which like I said either one ever has. And yes I am open to any help that anyone would like to give either here or in a PM......mark

My brother in law drew the tag in 07, and shot a small 4 point  on the second to the last day . Didn't see a lot of bucks . We hunted mostly up the mountains. We saw most of the bucks on private property near town. I would look at hunting the sage brush areas near town. I actually shot the nicer buck during the regular season.

So Where is the best place to look for deer that late in the year it has to be different than the general season right?

You probably won't see any one else hunting  ,we didn't . There is no pressure on the deer and there is a pretty good migration route from rendezvous area to buck lake area. Drive the rendezvous roads and hunt the wildlife area it's worth a look
