Novagrade digiscoping adapter, absolutely awesome.
« on: February 16, 2025, 04:53:05 PM »
I was not in the market for a new digiscoping adapter, happily using my s4 gear universal, despite some very obvious shortcomings. I have looked at the magnetic mount ones that are pretty common now a days, but didn't want to mess with changing my case out, and it limited me to only using my phone.

At the sportsmans show I ran across the novagrade booth, and after a couple minutes of demo, decided the 40$ show savings would be worth it, so I splurged and impulse purchased it.
The entire way home I was 2nd guessing spending 130$ on something like that. Once I got home and started mounting it, it was some of the best money I spent. Absolutley rock solid, very repeatable when you swap the phone on and off, a super quick to deploy.
I would not have purchased this from the internet, I would have suffered through the s4 shortcomings, im sure glad I actually splurged and got this thing though!

I have one as a backup as they are pretty universal.  I find the Ollin magnetic phone case one much handier for taking iphone pics on my spotting scope.

I hadn’t heard of these until people were talking about them recently. They seem legit. I was super disappointed with my ollin one I got for this season. I went back to the outdoorsmans setup. The only reason I went away from in the first place was that I didn’t understand the change in not being a phone specific case it was universal to all phones. But it is way better than my ollin.

But you still need a metal plate on your case. my preferred cases don't allow for that metal plate, and I would have to have metal plates for my girls phones and friends phones as well as mine.  :dunno:
