just release stuff into the wild?

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

There is a permit available that allows it, but I think the birds either have to be tested for avian influenza or come from a licensed game farm.

If I understand our game laws correctly  :iamwithstupid: you can not release any game bird for the sake of release in Washington. You can release birds for the sake of hunting or dog training but they have to be from a gamefarm and tested by the state vet. All birds are also required to be tagged for identification prior to release, you can buy the tags from the game dept. or take them off the birds you shoot at one of the many pay to play release sites in Eastern WA. Enforcement is to big thing on this like so many of our game laws. It happens all the time and very few people know the rules. I know you can not legally sell gamebirds in WA with out a gamefarm license from the game dept. I now have all my birds tested (by the State vet) as well as my inspection and paperwork for all my gamebirds wether I sell them or not. Helps me ensure my stock is good and if someone releases birds bought from me I can prove the testing and my license to avoid the penalty  :bash:.
