To me it looks like a 5.5+ year old. It might even be over the hill and regressing.

Like @Karl Blanchard stated, trying to guess a bucks age is just that, a guess. I used to think I was good until I shot a buck that was lab aged at 9.5 years old. I would of bet money he was only 3 or 4 years old

Well last year my partner shot a buck with huge bases, the body of an elk, and scored 195” and was only 4 years old. We guessed the deer to be 6-8 years old. Soooooo with that being said it’s anyone’s best guess and you can’t judge if pics. But I guess 3.5 years old.

Uh, wait, is there a picture of this deer on here somewhere we can see? You know, for educational purposes on aging deer?

Gotta hand it to you guys. Theres some experts out there after all. My sarcasm didnt help and showed too much of his baby body in the Pic Gotta bait it better.

But in all honestly. Well done from most of you.

I honestly was kind of sad when I saw he was only a bit over 3. He would have been a stud the next few years. Hope he planted his seed all over the country side.

no way to tell in that pic... It's easy to guess but ya can't even tell the body build laying there like that.

Congrats on a nice buck regardless of age sir!

Unlike Karl, I happen to be a deer aging expert. Difficult picture for judging age but I’ll take a guess… I mean it’s for sure 3.5 years old.

It’s impossible to age a buck from 4.5 and beyond without a yearly history with the buck. 3.5 to 4 is when a bucks skeletal frame is fully done growing and guessing a age on mature buck with no history is just a guess.

I would say you could go to 5.5 but again its all just a guess... what always messed with me was when the rut hit and animals started losing lots of weight... the rule was to kill mulies at 7....that rule got broke alot

I only had 2 years with mine and my wife's bucks, but you can see how well good feed can make them grow.
