Pearygin Quality
« on: June 10, 2025, 11:50:15 AM »
It’s honey hole season, you got them, I’ll take them. Just found out a buddy drew the same permit so I’m pretty excited.

I’ll be returning an Alta Buck permit, so I hope that will make someone’s day.

Nov 1 can’t come soon enough.

Congrats! That’s a nice tag to have! My dad had been hunting that unit since the 80s, he shot his last deer there and I got

NF-42 from HWY 20 to Conconully, cover all the side roads. Saw a monster in there one year during your hunt time, I could have shot him 10 times over.

Thanks for the info. It’s getting close now. I have 19 days of the season off. I’ll probably bounce back and forth for the first week so I can be around for kids sports… then get dialed the last 10 days.

Best of luck! I drew the Chewuch Quality Tag. I'm getting excited too. 😁

Saw quite a few deer, not a ton but there seemed to be a group or 2 about everywhere you would expect this time of year. There were some bucks cruising and pushing does but not a ton of rut activity. We found 2 nice bucks but nothing to jump at in the first week.

The hard part now is my daughter’s team made state volleyball and they still have a district game… so next week probably won’t be as straight forward as I was thinking.  :chuckle:

Sorry for the poor quality pics. All in low light or fog…

I wish I got a better shot of the one in the fog he was pretty nice.

Spent Sunday through Wednesday with my hunting buddy. On Wednesday we saw 57 deer between first light and 11. No big boys but still lots of fun.

Best of luck to you! It's been warm. The last week has been 40-50 degrees during the day. I can't wait to see what you get! I've been hunting the Chewuch for quality. Cruised over to your unit this evening to see what's moving around. I shot mine on the 12th. He's unique, so I couldn't pass him up.

Hopefully he's still packing it out, I'm sure we will get an update soon regardless of the outcome.
