I love the fact that I’ll use my wake surf boat for 4 months and get the privilege to pay the state $700 bucks a year to do it.
$700???? Why does it cost you that much. I think mines under $100.

My drift boat was under a $100, my little 15’ smokercraft is under a $100, but my wake surf boat is the expensive one that is used probably less than 40hrs a year. I’ll get way more time in the other boats though.

Drift boat needs registration?

For when I want to put my little 5hp on for motoring back up a good drift. Drift boats are all new to me. Figured I’d just register it to avoid any BS about what’s considered navigable waters.

Used to be if the motor was under 10hp and boat was under 16’ you didn’t need to register it. Boat registration uses some value formula. My surf boat costs registration is 10x my fish/hunt skiff but then so was to cost of the boat… trailer too (gotta love rta tax).

Just want to rub it in, trailers in Montana are a one time registration. Boats used to be every three years until.... our Governor just changed our registration laws so, we have zero boat registration fees. No more tabs needed period. So, my boat and trailer no longer have any license tabs or fees at all. And the State Budget is balanced. My boat doesn't spend more than 6 months floating in Washington so, im 100% legal keeping it and using it in Washington. My insurance is more expensive because its in Washington. Thats a negative.
