Wyoming Antelope Unit 80
« on: June 20, 2025, 09:21:28 AM »
We drew Wyoming Antelope for Unit 80. Trying to decide between staying in Cody or Powell. Looks like plenty of public land to hunt out of either town. Curious if anybody has any experience in this area? Also looking for any recommendations of hunter friendly motels in either town? Thanks in advance.

Haven't hunted 80, but drew 78 a couple times. Both times I stayed in Powell, and the hotel was hunter friendly for sure. Can't remember the name, buts it the same parking lot as a Pizza Hut. Good luck, beautiful area

Cody is more of a "real city," at least by Wyoming standards. If you're just there to hunt, then this probably doesn't matter. However, if you're got any non-hunting family going along, Cody has quite a bit to do and lots of places to eat. Cody is within Yellowstone's gravitational pull, so there's tons of tourist infrastructure.

Yea just there to hunt. Just want to stay in a good location for access to good hunting. Both city’s look like they have plenty of public land by them. We normally camp when hunting so staying in a hotel while hunting will also be a new experience.
