2600 didn't purchase the tag, it's not that they purchased then returned.  Requiring upfront purchase with refund if not drawn would solve 95% of that.

The people that were drawn for special permits likely don't purchase multi-season, at least nobody I know does.  If I draw a tag for a species with a bag limit of one for the year, I'm going to notch my tag on that special hunt.  I'd imagine a good chunk of the non-purchases are from holders of other special permits.  Then throw in drawing tags out of state with high success too and all of the sudden many people don't need multi-season, they'll already have full freezers.

If you apply for a special permit for elk or deer that would
Mean you would have already have purchased your tags for both those and once you apply for hunts your locked in for whatever weapon type
And east or west side for elk?? So I’m not to sure many people our not buying them based on the draws here. Wouldn’t make any sense. You’d wanna buy elk prior to applications for elk especially so you could apply east or west and any weapon..

Out of state tags quite possibly play a roll in weather or
Not someone decides to do it though
Not the case.  I always apply for my hunts before I buy the multi season tags.  If I draw a special permit I don't buy the multi season tag, if I don't don't then I will buy the multi season tag.  Just exchange my original tag when I purchase the multi tag.

Also I dont think many guys that are on the Eastside apply for Westside if they get drawn for multi season elk.  I am sure they use it to apply for different weapon types though.

Exactly this. I drew multi season and had purchased a rifle tag. I ended up drawing a quality deer permit so I didn't buy the MS tag but if I hadn't, I would have bought it so that I could hunt archery.

Was it an option online or did you need to be at a vendor?

My son and I were the first ones in line and he was able to get a multi season Elk tag. Of course they were out when it was my turn. I’m just glad he got one.

I didn’t go play the game. I could’ve been over there and waiting outside before they opened but I forgot to find the cashier that would be working today and give them a tip to be there on time and waiting with my info as the clock struck 10, so I figured it would be a waste. Don’t have extra time to chase elk anyways since my son drew a moose tag

On the WDFW Email list and didn't get an email.  Found out after the drawing.  Would have been somewhere trying.

Should the option to buy pop up in the product catalog?  Nothing is showing on my end as an option to purchase....
