We are loosing hundreds in North Idaho! Just around two subdivisions areas in St Maries they have found close to 20 deer in the little green belts in town, all have been reported. IDFW is saying EHD.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Hope it doesn't come to it, but if the outbreaks take as big of toll as the last blue tongue one did we might see some unit closures or heavy restrictions.  Most of the NE units are not in good enough shape to survive another heavy hit. Haven't seen any signs of it yet and hope not to.

Think they’d do that? The 4 point minimum units on whitetails a few years back was awesome, there was little bucks running around everywhere. But people whined enough about the restrictions they dropped em.

This is Washington we’re talking about, the only reason they may shut down the units will be so their beloved predators have enough to eat.

Last outbreak predators got fat and didn't have to bother hunting. Predators and different carion eaters fared very well.

The last outbreak took out the senior and youth doe hunts. Maybe this one will get rid of more opportunities. Make the bunny huggers happy.

Yes ,4 point min was awesome, haters gonna hate.

They won't close the season. My opinion.
Last outbreak alot of fawns got ate in short order.
One doe I remember had like five fawns with her.
All there mom's fell over dead.
Are they gonna test any dead deer for CWD.
Just cause they died from blue tongue, doesn't mean they can't be tested for CWD. Perfect samples ,I would think.

Found two more dead ones today just out of town (St. Maries). You can’t go in the woods around St. Maries without finding them. Just follow your nose, it’s been HOT so easy to find. Could be a bleak hunting season in units 5 & 6 even if they don’t add restrictions.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Been seeing the same thing.  I was real hopeful the Palouse was starting to come back but…been out there several times the last couple weeks and it was bleak.
