I broke down and bought a
« on: September 30, 2025, 08:33:48 PM »
Tikka t3 in 6.5 prc, not sure why I did but I did. Ordered a Leupold Mark4 HD in 6-24x52 to go on top of it. Ordered up 10 boxes of Hornandy precision 143 eldx to break it in. Just waiting for the gun shot to call me and tell me it arrived. It's the Veil  Weidland version.

It sounds like that would not be hard to love.

Should be a fun one too shoot!  Also, the actions in tikkas are 🤌🏼 SO nice!!!  Do you plan on reloading?

I do, once I shoot the 100 rounds and have the brass available I'll build a load for that rifle.

It sounds like that would not be hard to love.
I made the mistake of handling one while I was picking up the supressor for my 6.5cm. Love the feel of it on the shoulder, loved the smoothness of the bolt just felt good.

Great choice! I love mine, but be careful. The aftermarket for T3's is second only to R700 platforms and you can end up with a very expensive one quick! (Or two)  :chuckle:

Adjusting the factory trigger pull weight is simple but makes a noticeable difference. Recommend NOT swapping to aftermarket due to slam fire risk.

Hard to achieve 65 in-lbs on the action screws with the factory bottom plastic but 55 in-lbs is realistic, might just need some shims. I have a pack of extras if you need any.

UM Tikka Premier rings are excellent. Sportsmatch TO84 for a cheaper (but still quality) option. No reason to add a rail unless you need the 20 MOA adjustment ability.

I bought one last December and love it. I tried the Hornady 143 but mine shoots the 130 Federal Terminal Ascent better. Happy shooting!

See AshQ, Pickard knows Pics, or it didn't happen! Let's see the rifle. We need our armament porn.

Unfortunately it's in Washington's stupid azz waiting period jail. I can get 2 supressors bought, paid for and home on guns before I can pick up the actual firearm, literally...Fed background done supressor home in 9 days. I can't bring home the new rifle until the 16th....ugh...

I'm well aware of that t3 virus. My son has a custom built 338RUM on a new chassis, carbon fiber barrel etc. He's into it way more than my custom 338RUM on a 700 action.
