I used to hunt around there when I lived on the west side.  It's kind of grown up and thick now - if you go up the Huckleberry (73 Road) and then back towards Haller Pass there are a few good clearcuts.  I was out grouse hunting and talked to a guy up there 5 or 6 years ago dragging about a 100 pound bear down to the road - his boy had shot the thing.  He told me it was his family's second bear up there that year, but they were both pretty small.

I used to see some elk up there from time to time and a few deer, too.  Of course, elk is permit only now.  I personally never saw any live bears in that particular area...that one that guy was dragging down to the road was the first one I'd seen.

There cat population is a little slim up there. The bear are pretty thick in there though. But so is the brush now that Weyerhauser sold and the logging has stopped up there.
There are a few good places to glass. But not like it used to be.
As far as big game. It was a favorite place for the Muckleshoots to elk and deer hunt. And the big game hunting reflects it big time.
