Post rut Whitetail grunt call

Taking my kid out today in Idaho. Has anybody had any luck using a grunt tube when the rut is pretty much over with?

Just ramping up in some areas..

Add a 2 min rattle set , right after the grunt.

I'm probably dating myself but late buck used to open the day before thanksgiving and went to the 2nd week in December.

Should be good action up through Dec 1st or so, in my experience. 

Grunts and occasional rattling (once every hour seemed good, back when I lived in whitetail country). Don't be afraid to get into thicker vegetation. Find valleys with redcedar and grand fir.

I've had them chasing up until the 5th but, that's the latest I've stayed but, we know it's on until the last does bred
