I hope this turns out and he mans up to give all their trophies back.  There's just so much more than inches on a buck, bull or bear.  To some it's a legacy,  I really hope he gets them back to their owners.  Best of luck all.

Wowzhers! :o     At least I didnt recommend this one to any of you like two others I had.

This guy got me with one recommendation to a buddy.

He’s about 5 minutes from my house. Aside from refunds, I’m probably mostly concerned about peoples’ trophies getting worked over by the recent flood water in the valley. He is dead in the middle of possibly the worst of it.

Which is also kinda BS, plenty of warning the water was coming. If stuff was lost he had plenty of time to get it out.

I was at the shop this morning to pick up my items.  I didn't notice any water damage inside the shop.

That’s great news.

Lots of people getting their stuff?

Got my personal stuff and a buddies this morning.  I was first there and first to leave.  Took our animals to TeJay at Trapline in Cle Elum….  TeJay is a standup up guy and does awesome work.  I was going to use him originally but got talked into trying wildlife instead.  Chris is going to try and mail out refund checks over the next year as he gets back on his feet.  I’m happy to have my memories back and moving forward in a new direction!

"Chris is going to try and mail out refund checks over the next year as he gets back on his feet.  "

So what kind of safeguards are put in place to make sure all persons affected get their money back?

Not sure of legal standpoint but is very similar to embezzlement which is a crime.

With the exception of one, all the taxis (including this guy) that I’ve dealt with are real screwballs. What’s in the water? Maybe I just have bad luck. Sure grateful I have a good one now. Thanks for being so awesome Rick @cedarriver

Most artists I’ve met aren’t good businessmen. Hopefully Wildlife Obsession makes good on their promise to refund his customers.

I got a response from him today, said all euros are being sent to another taxi, and that I’m welcome to come pick up hide/horns. But he clearly doesn’t remember me or my project and didn’t look into it either. Says refunds will be adjusted based on amount of work he put into it.. which is ahh interesting take in my book.

I would not hold my breath waiting for those refunds. If he is already saying they will be adjusted for "work done" when your trophy has sat there for years seems inexcusable. Maybe next he will charge you a "storage fee"? I do do think it is great that he is at least making an effort to return the heads but that might only be to stay out of jail...  I wonder when he stopped taking in heads? Was it this fall?

Got my stuff today with apologies. I expect to be getting my full deposit back. He has a note book for everyone to write their details in including the amount owed back to them.
