I would not hold my breath waiting for those refunds. If he is already saying they will be adjusted for "work done" when your trophy has sat there for years seems inexcusable. Maybe next he will charge you a "storage fee"? I do do think it is great that he is at least making an effort to return the heads but that might only be to stay out of jail...  I wonder when he stopped taking in heads? Was it this fall?

I dropped off a bear on Nov 15 this year and picked up a euro mount. He apologized for the lack of communication and emphasized on how busy they are, he never mentioned anything about closing the business down.
As the post above says we have bigger issues with this flood now, all of our stuff might be completely ruined. Hopefully they had time to move everything to a safe location.

Sounds like he was still accepting work two weeks before this thread was started

Ok well I was going to leave it at what I said earlier but after dealing with this little $hitbag the last few days I’m going to air it out. I took him a beaver I trapped a couple years back to be mounted, it was a cool blonde and we spend a lot of time on the trapline as a family so I thought it would be a cool addition to the trophy room. He’s done some work for some buddies so I thought I’d give him some business even though he’s not my regular guy. He wanted the beaver whole, not skinned or fleshed so that’s how I dropped it off. I gave him over %50 to get started on the project. ETA was 12-18 months at the latest. (It’s been 2 years now) I waited patiently because I know these taxis are all behind and bugging them doesn’t get you anywhere. I finally decide to reach out for an update but can’t get an answer or response for months. Then I recently hear he is closing/moving his shop so I get nervous, but I also hear he is still taking new projects and deposits as well. I finally get ahold of him on his cell and he says come get your stuff. I say so your not finishing it? He reply’s NO. I ask if he can mail me my stuff and the $ and he replies Absolutely not you will come and get it and will be charged for skinng, etc. After some back and forth the beaver hide ended up on a fence post at the end of my driveway in a bag in the rain and no $. Don’t even have the balls to nock on the door. After the 2 year inconvenience I’d still be ok to pay him for the skinning, etc stuff(although the right thing would be for him to eat it) but not the whole deposit that’s ridiculous. In the bag with the hide was the carbon copy invoice, he has since altered it and added that “all deposits cover skinning, ect) he also changed the original price and balance. This guy may be in a tough spot but turning on your clients and being dishonest and deceitful is bull$hit. Oh and btw he is still taking on new projects “on the side”. Steer clear of Chris Miller folks he’s a real pos.

Just glad I got my bear in and back from this guy before his business (and sounds like life) went to sh@T.

I even recommended him on here a while back not knowing about all this. Hopefully that guy didnt take my advice.

I used him and recommended him. At the time, I was thoroughly impressed because I feel like he did a good job and more importantly he told me it was going to take 14 months and it literally took 14 months.

Chris did a lot of work for me and did everything in the up and up and a great job but I’m beyond pissed how he is treating my friends that I recommended include Lewey above
I’m personally going to his shop tomorrow and try to straighten some BS out

I showed up there and got my bobcat back today (my only one ive ever shot), just a skinned (tanned) hide and a skull that was supposed to be a full mount, sat at another taxidermist shop in snohomish county (morros) for almost 3 years, then wildlife for over 2. Took the form and rock ledge it was supposed to be on, and eyes with me. Pulled my frozen tanned hide out from a bag at home after it thawed, and its missing the back legs and tail, so who knows, was it the taxi prior to him? Was it him? Was it the tannery? I wanted a full mount, cant do a full mount with 3/4of a cat.  Don't even care at this point. F it.
