Ice fishing for walleye is really fun. Much more fun than boat fishing for them. Tilt ups work well but mostly with live minnows.
Wish we could fish with live minnows here in Washington… if Minnesota wasn’t so screwed up politically I would relocate there just for the ice fishing  :)

Ice is just about thick enough for me to get the pickup out now. Planning a family fishing day for New Year’s Eve but hopefully get to get out once before they too. Just bought myself a new pop up shelter big enough for the whole family. There’s nothing better than ice fishing if you ask me.

I’ll second that perch are just as good as walleye.

Been too warm here, I think Idaho and western Montana are in the same boat for no ice yet. Bonaparte is just starting to make ice for the second time this year but that’s it. Bumming me out…

Lake Vermillion. North East of Brainerd  where I grew up. Caught plenty of walleye through the ice.  Always in a fish house.  Caught a 7 pound lake trout through the ice at 90'.  Caught pike through the ice.  It is a blast.  Curled would be awesome because they got some musky in that lake to.  That might be interesting to catch through the ice
