7PRC reloading
« on: December 27, 2025, 06:31:28 PM »
Hey all,
My son just bought a Seekins rifle in 7PRC. Does anyone have any good starting points for reloading. Looking at Hornady Eldx or Nosler Accubonds for bullets.

Thanks for any info!

If he reloads, I would look real hard at the hammer hunter monolithic bullets.  I’m pushing the 155 gr Hammer Hunter at 3275 fps and they are very accurate.  My next 7prc will be a seeking and I will likely stick to a 120-130 class hammer hunter and run it fast.  Hammers are great bullets.

Of the two you mentioned, I would stay with the accubond.   I’m not a fan of the ELD-X bullets.

I run a 169 hammer hunter at 2980 over H1000. It is ridiculously accurate and consistent to 1,000. I have killed several deer with it. Couldn’t be happier.

I have worked up to 71.0g of H1000 with a Barnes 160LRX.  Shooting .282 groups @100 yards.

Mine 26 inch barrel 67 grains H-1000 and a 180 Berger VLD.  Mine shot Bergers better than Hornady ELD-Ms.  Tried N560 and Retumbo but H1000 was better.

I have a Christensen 7 PRC with a 22” carbon fiber barrel. I wanted to shoot the 160 Accubond or Partitions, but I could not get them to shoot. I ended up loading the 140 Accubond with 73.5 g of N565. F215 primer and Peterson brass seated at 3.210 OAL. I get 3168 fps and they shoot .5-.75 inch groups.

If you're on facebook follow/join the "Seekins precision owners group". They have tons of members and a wealth of knowledge.  Many of the members work for Seekins and Glen Seekins himself is on their quite a bit answering questions personally.
