@JDHasty is spot on with the twist.  If it is stamped 6mm Rem, you are good to go.  The pre- cursor 244 Remington had the slow twist.  I had a Rem 700 6mm Rem that I killed many deer with the factory 100 gr Core Lock and then 85gr Barnes and one spike bull.  It is now re-barreled to 338 Federal.  I have dies and lots of brass if you are interested.

I do plan to reload, and good advise to keep an eye on overall length. I'll probably use the 100gr Hornaday interlock bullet. So, yes, as I save my fun money, I will be in the market for brass and dies. The rifle is stamped 6mm rem and according to the Sn, best I can figure is its a 84 year.
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

I acquired a Remington 600 Mohawk chambered in 6mm Remington a few years ago. I bought a few boxes of PPU PRVI 100gr to use to acquire brass and actually that ammo shoots really good out of it. I also acquired  a bunch of old Speer 105g Spitzers that I have been using a 2nd edition Speer loading manual for loads. I haven't had any chambering issues reloading. I am also planning on trying to load Hornady 100g interlocks when my stash of 105s run out.

I misspoke when I mentioned chamber length, and should have left it at magazine length in short action rifles.  As others have made clear, some long bullets will have to be seated quite deep in the 6mm brass cartridge to still fit in a short action magazine, and that takes up space that could be filled with powder.  A long action let's a reloader seat 6mm bullets quite long, allowing more room for a max powder charge and maybe more velocity.  It's not a huge difference, and a max charge depends on the powder as well.
