Very Little Trapping Posts
« on: January 20, 2026, 06:02:12 AM »
I know the weather has been a little rough in the PNW for trapping, but this has been a pretty slow season for trapping posts. I've always enjoyed reading the stories and seeing the great set-up, catch, and release pictures. Maybe some of the members can spice things up and post some of their past pictures. The cougar in the cage trap was a epic one!!!

Anything to get some movement.

Good morning! Here is a cat I trapped yesterday using some beaver meat. 22.6lb Tom. I bought the trap from a member here who builds them. Ouchfuss is his handle I believe.

This is only my second cat, but I'm learning slowly!

Which post had the cougar in a trap?

Jingles says  :hello:  He's not run into his trouble makers this season yet!  Not much snow so far this year.

With the lack of snow to push most of the ungulates and wolves down and keep people out of areas, it’s been a good winter to sit out with torn ligaments in the hand. The 330s I’ve loaned out to buddies have been catching a lot of beaver.

I haven’t cut a wolf track in months in areas they have frequented every week the last several winters.

Been the best beaver year I've had in 25 years if that counts. I tend not to post new beaver pics every day  :chuckle: Wolves have finally started moving in my area. The deer have really centralized in a few-mile area, which is why I'm thinking.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

One can only hope some packs got your river and this one mixed up this winter and got stuck trying to cross back over the watershed divide. 🤣
