I got a pair of filson single tin pants for beating brush when they were 50% off earlier this year.  They're heavy and stiffer than what I'm used to, but that's the tradeoff for durability. They're also bomb proof and waterproof, though ironically I never needed them in the wet this year, so didn't test that. They have a great reputation with loggers, which says a lot for handling brush.

Been wearing Filson single and double tin chaps for pheasant hunting for decades.

I wouldn't call them waterproof, but they do turn stickers away.  Over my regular Riggs utility jeans or over my hip boots when hunting marsh ponds.

Been really liking the regular Wrangler outdoor pant you can get at walmart, I've tried maybe 5 different high end hunting pants this past bear season (Sitka, Kuiu, Prana, ect.) and go back to the wrangler pant. They're light fairly durable so when they do get torn, I don't really care, just patch em cause the pants cost about $22. Call me a poser but I wear Kuiu to starbucks and wragler in the backcountry. Unless were talking cold weather, than thats a whole other conversation.

I think for the value in hot to moderate climate they’re the best bang for the buck. Once you get around freezing temps they do get a little cold but if you’re moving it’s still good. My favorite part is they dry super fast. I think I have around 12 pairs of pants.

I live on the west side of the peninsula and worked in the woods my whole life so I know what works. Tingley Iron Eagle rainwear. Tough and light. They are the successor to Tingleys Black Iron. That only came in black. I got the new stuff in green.
Here's a tip to avoid sweating. Buy the stuff big and leave your coat unbuttoned. That provides airflow. I like enough room in the pants to have my arms at my side in the pants and still have some slack.
Avoid any PVC rain clothes. Too heavy.
