Why we use quality traps

Crazy. They are strong. I’ve caught a few in cages and they usually damage them. Many damaged cages left empty.

A coyote can squeeze out through a 4 1/2" hole. I know that from the 1st traps I made out of 14-gauge wire.

Duke cages are often a one and done investment.

I managed to catch 2 beavers and 2 bobcats with it. The yote was the final straw! Lucky it made it this long. Oh well it was given to me.

I've considered getting some live traps, what is a good quality trap?

fowl smacker: For starters get American made. American made wire. The Dukes are made in Korea, I believe.
Contact either Humptulips or Ochfoss (spelling?) on here and see what they have.
Also the way the market is, would be worth a try to post in classified cage traps wanted. May be someone that wants to unload some.
I will add that if a person just wants a cage for small animals, the Duke 7”x7”x24” is an inexpensive option. They can hold up to the small furbearers. I own 40 of them about 5 of them are in the to be repaired pile. But! the door lock must be modified or every caught animal will push their way out.

Qualifying remark on the small traps in repair pile. All the damage on these cages is from shoddy workmanship or poor materials. Not from the intended small animal captures.

Austin showed me the pics 😂 there’s been only one trap that doesn’t get damaged by a coyote and that’s ouchfoss cages I got that coyote this year and reset it as good as new
