How big will he be? How many points?
« on: July 06, 2009, 12:39:10 PM »
Just pulled one of my cameras and saw this guy.  Just started blacktail hunting (archery) and this is the biggest I have seen.  Can any of you give me perspective if he is gonna be a trophy in the fall?

He is a shooter in anybodies book.  He will defiantly make books with archery.  Shoot his ass.

Im not sure how big he will end up being but He looks awesome now, I would be happy getting a buck the size he is now without having more growth. I say go for it. looks like he might end up being a 5x5

Ya I cant tell if his backs will fork our not.  Looks like they will.

No I need to start figuring him out a little.  Do blacktails respond to rattling?

Yes they respond quite well to rattling and grunting.

he looks like he is gonna be a dandy to me.  For sure the one side will have 4 points and it looks like a bulb on his right side also, but hard to tell from this angle and it even looks like a double eye guard on the right.  He still has a couple months of growing so try to keep track of him.  If you get on him early in the archery season he will definitely be more patternable, good luck.

If you can find him again in the Fall, you'll have a nice P&Y blacktail. I've seen one similar that I hope to find when rifle opens up, not holding my breath though.
